Abruzzo, Italy,
This space is dedicated to my passion for nature photography. That passion grew alongside my love for the mountains, trekking, and climbing. I could honestly say that, for me, one cannot exist without the other. They are interdependent.
As my desire to learn how to move through the landscape—and to photograph it—grew stronger, I encountered several photographers who left a lasting mark on my aesthetic sense and visual taste. One of them is Eliot Porter.
Years ago, I bought a small house in a village located right within the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, and from there I set out on my small nature-photography adventures.
These images are a tribute to a vision of nature in the spirit of intimate landscape, just as Porter taught us: small scenes within a vast landscape that capture the details of a place—its textures, its subtle relationships. An attempt to catch a single note from an entire symphony.
Above all, however, they are a tribute to this extraordinary national park. I have been photographing here since 2023, and during these years the entire park seems to have transformed. I also pay homage to the passing of the seasons—something that only here in Abruzzo, and especially in the mountains, I have begun to rediscover.
Henry David Thoreau once wrote, “In Wildness is the Preservation of the World.” I hope that we will begin to reconsider our role in preserving all of this.
